A general consultation will last on average about 20-40 minutes ranging from normal healthy children to chronic and acute illnesses and problems.
Some of these include:
Colds and flu
Chest problems and infections
Ear nose and throat problems
Rashes and other skin infections
Bladder infections and problems
Weight and Growth problems
Diet and Eating problems
Parental fears and worries
During a consultation I will discuss the detail related to the problem with you as well as the general health and development of your child. Please remember to bring your child’s Road to Health booklet along to the consultation. Your child will be examined in a child friendly environment, where not only the problem area will be examined but the whole child to reveal other related and non-related problems. I will discuss the details of the findings with you in non medical terms as well as the appropriate treatment options that will suit your child and family best. I will also assist you with advice on management of the condition at home in general and you will be able to stay in contact with me during his/her recovery.
If you were referred by your GP your GP will receive a relevant feedback letter from the practice.
